Jammin' With the Stars!
Debbie Stark and her daughter, Brittany from Trempealeau were our winners for this Saturday's "Jammin' with the Stars" and got to sit in the VIP section, sit in the Skybox for Neal McCoy...and then have a meal backstage with us.
What a total treat they got! When we got into the food line with the catering service, who should get in line behind us? NEAL McCOY! And his band! So, we were able to enjoy our meal at a table, just a few feet from Neal and company...and the jokes were flyin'!
It pays to JAM with CC106.3!

Sawyer Brown on Stage NOW!
John and I got to do the JumboTron interview with Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown. We learned that he has to get up early tomorrow to coach his son's basketball team! He's a VERY active Dad, which is no easy feat when you're on the road performing for a living.
Mark had tried out years ago to make a basketball team in the CBA...and he DID make the team. He WANTED to eventually play for the NBA...but he says that hopefully, his son can make that dream happen for himself!
As I type, a rain shower has begun to fall down, while Sawyer Brown is on stage...the rain is pouring actually, but the band plays on...and the crowd is going WILD! WET & WILD!

Whipped Into a Frenzy

Neal McCoy has total command of the sprawling crowd here at JAM! Totally expected--with his charisma and stage presence! Everyone is singing along at the top of their lungs right now to "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On"

Neal McCoy:
The Party Has Arrived
Neal McCoy is THE funniest performer EVER! He was crackin' jokes from the moment he got backstage. When we wrapped up our interview with him and he finished signing guitars and such--he stepped outside of the tent and found his tour manager giving a shoulder massage to Amanda with Country JAM. So Neal stepped in front of Amanda and proceeded to get himself added to the massage line. Then our Sheri Plantz stepped in front of Neal for her massage, completing the train!

Neal proceeded to carry the fun over to the stage, as expected. In addition to a fully inflated cow exam glove--he also had some fun with this girl who had a fake butt that appeared to be sticking out of her pants. She was the same gal who stopped by our headquarters and did photos with our Festival Foods Jam SESSION Photo Pass--and got EVERYONE laughin' so hard. Good stuff!

Jack Ingram
Turns the Tables

We got to meet Jack Ingram before he went on stage. He was already sippin' on Bud Light...he said he had to get "primed" before performing, and despite his stage time set at 3:15 this afternoon, he needed to act like it was 8:30 at least! I follow the logic perfectly.

The entire time backstage, Jack was using a little video recorder, documenting everything...and then when John and I brought him on stage, he was off to the side, recording us introducing him! (Thanks Sheri for snappin' it!)

It was pretty cool when John did the big intro--as Jack's band started jammin' so it was like John was a total part of their group! And I got a nice little high-five from Jack as he went to center stage and took the mic from John.

Best time yet on stage!

LoCash Cowboys

What a hoot they are! John and I got to do the Jumbotron interview with the boys. When John came over to the grounds this morning, he said that the LoCash Cowboys bus was in front of them...going like 5 MPH...just pokin' along. So we asked them about that. Apparently, they were goin' like 100MPH from a gig in Ohio all night, so they were slowing down to even it out. Um...sure.

The guys are very funny and quick witted and their sound is a great blend of the heroes, who will be on stage later tonight--Neal McCoy & Sawyer Brown. They were recently signed by Jeffery Steele and have a new single coming out later this fall that we will have on CC106.3.
What a Wild Night!

So, after .38 Special wrapped up on the main stage last night...we toddled over to the sidestage area...which was just the beginning of the night!

Isn't it funny how stupid things seem SO incredibly funny, when you're tired and tipsy? We laughed so hard all night--I'm calling it a workout for my abs!

But I truly got a workout when mounted the mechanical bull and went for a ride. Special thanks to the North Country Bull Rides folks...they let me try it more than a few times. (Mostly because I kept falling off...) But the best was when one of their guys got on it with me! He was very brave, given where my hands had to be...brave or stupid, really. All I'm going to say is I hope he was done having kids! You can see the video HERE.

After we closed down the grounds...we tumbled over to the Whispering Pines campground, where the REAL action got rollin'.

We did karaoke with the Roadhouse Karaoke gang! (I had to so Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe") Good times! What a fun and LOUD bunch! That's also where we began to find some fun fashion.

Great T-shirts that were designed to help people get back to their campsites, if they got too inebriated. Smart @ss shirts were plentiful. And some pretty interesting outfits as well, including exposed undergarments...some on purpose...some due to the delivery of hard wedgies.
It was a fantastic night, packed with fun! I was really thirsty this morning...what's up with that?!
